Robert J. Curcio

Robert J. Curcio (R.J.) focuses his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, trucking accidents, automobile accidents, and premises liability litigation. R.J. has worked at Curcio Law Offices for several years after having worked as a law clerk at a well-respected plaintiff’s firm in Chicago. Starting as a clerk, his work and commitment to the practice were immediately recognized.

R.J. received his law degree from The John Marshall Law School where he was involved in numerous trial teams that frequently were nationally ranked. As a young Chicago personal injury attorney, R.J. has begun his career in the courtroom. Within two weeks of becoming licensed, he was found in the courtroom where he undertook his first jury trial for a man injured in a head-on collision. A few months later, R.J. tried his first case in the United States District Court where he successfully obtained a $185,000 verdict for a man injured in a trucking accident.

Currently, Mr. Curcio is working on several complex personal injury cases, preparing them for trial, including the case of a pedestrian struck by a semi-truck, a woman run-over in a parking lot, and a mother and daughter injured by police in a high-speed motor vehicle pursuit.

Since joining the team at Curcio Law Offices, R.J. has worked on several complex matters. Most recently, R.J. worked closely with the firm’s founding partner, Joseph Curcio, to settle a police pursuit case against the City of Chicago for $2,000,000 and another wrongful death action for $8,000,000. Expanding his horizons, R.J. has successfully prosecuted dram shop cases, nursing home litigation, and other various personal injury cases as well. 

R.J.’s legal experience was colored by his work experiences throughout law school. While attending law school, R.J. worked at a well-respected, high profile law firm assisting in several major personal injury trials. R.J. then went to work for the Honorable Edward S. Harmening of the Circuit Court of Cook County as a Judicial Extern. As a judicial extern, R.J. had a behind-the-scenes view of how a trial operates from beginning to end. Having had the opportunity to sit through five trials while working with Judge Harmening, R.J. saw some of Chicago’s best attorneys try several week long cases.

Outside of the office, R.J. enjoys playing basketball, exploring the city that raised him, and working with various charities within Chicago to help the community he grew up with.
